In an American League matchup the Houston Astros will visit the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday, May 10. The Astros will send Collin McHugh to the mound to face Baltimore’s Miguel Gonzalez.

This will be McHugh’s fourth start of the year. Currently he holds a 2-1 record with a 2.79 ERA. However McHugh got roughed up last outing when he faced the Seattle Mariners. McHugh made it four innings before he was pulled giving up five earned runs on eight hits. He struck out four and walked one in his short outing. He’ll be going up against a team that is currently sitting in first place in one of the toughest divisions in baseball. He’ll have to get back to the way he was pitching in his first two starts if he wants a shot at the win. His chances may increase as he hasn’t faced anyone on the Orioles roster which will make McHugh somewhat of an unknown.

Miguel Gonzalez is off his third loss of the season. Gonzalez faced the Minnesota Twins on May 4 and pitched 4.2 innings in the loss. Gonzalez gave up three earned runs on six hits while walking four and striking out seven. He hasn’t been the recipient of a great deal of run support this season. Gonzalez and the Orioles will be hoping a matchup against the Astros will get both him and the team in the win column.

Current Astro players are batting .417 against Gonzalez in his career. Jose Altuve is hitless in his two at bats against Gonzalez but Jason Castro is 4-for-5 with three doubles, a home run, and four RBI’s.
