On Thursday night, Rick Porcello will be going for his 10th win of the season when he and the Detroit Tigers go up against left-hander Joe Saunders and the Texas Rangers.

Big right-hander Rick Porcello pitched six scoreless innings against the Cleveland Indians on the road last week and was able to pick up his ninth win of the season. He allowed just six hits in that outing and was able to strike out three batters while walking just one. On the season, Porcello is 9-4 with a 3.76 ERA and he has only walked 21 batters in 88.2 innings.

Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre has done well against Porcello in their matchups by going 8-for-19 against him with two doubles and a home run. Shortstop Elvis Andrus has just two hits in 15 at-bats against the right-hander with three strikeouts.

Joe Saunders remained winless on the season after taking the loss against the Los Angeles Angels last Friday. He went just 4.2 innings in that outing and allowed seven runs (four earned) on 10 hits while walking three and striking out three. Through six starts, he is now 0-3 with a 4.11 ERA.

Saunders does not like facing Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler, who is 12-for-36 against him with three doubles, four home runs and eight RBI. Outfielder Austin Jackson has just one hits in seven at-bats against him.
