Rick Porcello (13-8) will attempt to snap his three-game losing streak when he and the Detroit Tigers face off against Jake Odorizzi (9-9) and the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday night.

Rick Porcello gave up six runs (five earned) to the Seattle Mariners last week and ended up losing for the eighth time this season. He went six innings in that start and gave up 10 hits while walking no one and striking out three. Porcello now has a 3.28 ERA on the year and he has only walked 1.8 batters per nine innings.

Rays outfielder Desmond Jennings has five hits in 14 at-bats against Porcello in his career with a double, a home run and three RBI. Evan Longoria is just 2-for-11 against him with two walks and three strikeouts.

Jake Odorizzi won his second consecutive game last Thursday when he defeated the Texas Rangers on the road. He gave up just two runs in seven innings that day while walking one batter and striking out seven. He currently has a 3.82 ERA on the season and he has been able to strike out 146 batters in 129.2 innings of work.

Tigers outfielder Ezequiel Carrera has zero hits in three at-bats against Odorizzi in his career with no walks. All of the other Tigers will be facing the right-hander for the first time on Wednesday night.
