Anibal Sanchez will be going for his third straight win when he and the Detroit Tigers face Scott Kazmir and the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday.

Anibal Sanchez picked up his second win of the season last week when he was able to pitch seven strong innings against the Texas Rangers. He scattered five hits in that start and allowed just two runs while striking out five and walking no one. The right-hander has been impressive on the mound this season, giving up just 25 hits in 35 innings and striking out 32.

Shortstop Jed Lowrie has just one hit in 10 at-bats against Sanchez, while Brandon Moss only has two hits in 11 at-bats against him. Coco Crisp and Alberto Callaspo are the only two Athletics who have hit home runs off of the veteran starter.

Scott Kazmir pitched well against the Toronto Blue Jays last Friday, but he still ended up with his second loss of the year. He went seven innings in that start and allowed three runs on five hits while striking out two and walking one. He still has an impressive 2.56 ERA to go along with his 5-2 record this season.

Victor Martinez has had more success against Kazmir than any of his teammates by going 10-for-20 against him with three doubles, a home run and four RBI. Second baseman Ian Kinsler has hit a home run off of the lefty, but he only has a .138 batting average in 29 at-bats against him.
