On Monday afternoon, reigning Cy Young winner Max Scherzer and the Detroit Tigers will be going up against Tommy Milone and the Oakland Athletics.

Max Scherzer's winning streak ended at six last week when he ended up with a no decision against the Cleveland Indians. He allowed a season-high seven earned runs on 12 hits while walking two and striking out five. He is still 6-1 on the season with a 2.59 ERA and has struck out 78 batters through 66 innings.

Coco Crisp is the only player on the A's with extended at-bats who has done well against Scherzer, going 4-for-11 against him with a double. Alberto Callaspo is just 3-for-15 against the right-hander in his career.

Tommy Milone picked up his third win of the season last Wednesday when he was able to defeat the Tampa Bay Rays on the road. He pitched 5.2 innings in that game and allowed two earned runs on five hits while striking out three and walking one. The 27-year-old starter is now 2-3 on the year with a 3.99 ERA and he's given up just 43 hits in 47.1 innings.

Veteran outfielder Torii Hunter has four hits in seven at-bats against Milone in his career with a home run. Austin Jackson is just 1-for-7 against him with a strikeout, while J.D. Martinez has three hits off of him in 11 at-bats with a home run and four RBI.
