On Saturday afternoon, Anibal Sanchez will be hoping to get some run support so he can pick up his first win of the season when the Detroit Tigers face Phil Hughes and the Minnesota Twins.

Anibal Sanchez pitched pretty well in his start against the Chicago White Sox on Monday, but his offense didn't provide much support and he was saddled with his second loss of the season. He went 6.1 innings in that game and gave up three runs on five hits while striking out five and walking just one. He now has a 3.54 ERA on the season and is striking out 9.7 hitters per nine innings.

Sanchez has done pretty well against most of the Twins' hitters in the past, but Joe Mauer has five singles in 13 at-bats against him. Trevor Plouffe is the lone Twin with a home run against the right-hander.

Phil Hughes didn't have his best game against the Kansas City Royals last Sunday, but he did well enough to pick up his first win of the season. He went six innings in that game and gave up three runs on nine hits and struck out three Royals. He was able to lower his ERA, but it still sits at a below-average 6.43.

Hughes is one of Miguel Cabrera's favorite pitchers to face. He has 25 at-bats against him in his career, and he has five home runs, three doubles and 11 RBI.
