On Wednesday, David Price (14-11) will make his ninth start for the Detroit Tigers when they face off against Kyle Gibson (11-11) and the Minnesota Twins.

David Price faced the Cleveland Indians at home last week and ended up beating them after giving up just one run in 7.2 innings of work. He allowed eight hits in that start and struck out seven without walking a batter. Price has a 3.26 ERA on the year and he has been able to strike out 250 batters in 226.2 innings on the mound.

Twins infielder Eduardo Nunez will probably be in the lineup against Price on Wednesday as he is 9-for-31 against him with two doubles, a home run and four RBI. First baseman Joe Mauer is just 3-for-18 against the left-hander with three walks and five strikeouts.

Last Thursday, Kyle Gibson could only make it through three innings against the Cleveland Indians on the road and ended up losing for the 11th time this season. He gave up seven runs on seven base hits in that game while walking two batters and striking out no one. On the season, Gibson now has a 4.58 ERA and he has only struck out 5.1 batters per nine innings.

Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler is 3-for-7 against Gibson in his career with a walk and an RBI. Nick Castellanos is hitless in six at-bats against him with a walk and three strikeouts.
