Rookie starter Robbie Ray (1-3) will attempt to snap his three-game losing streak when he and the Detroit Tigers go up against Tommy Milone (6-4) and the Minnesota Twins on Friday night.

Robbie Ray made his sixth start of the year for the Tigers on Sunday and ended up losing to the Seattle Mariners at home. He pitched five innings in that game and allowed four runs (three earned) on seven base hits while walking two batters and striking out one. He has given up 32 hits in 25.1 innings this year and now has a 5.33 ERA.

Twins infielder Eduardo Escobar has one hit in his two at-bats against Ray with a double and no strikeouts. None of the Twins have faced Ray more than three times in their careers.

Left-hander Tommy Milone made his second start for the Twins last weekend and ended up losing for the fourth time this season. He could only make it through 1.1 innings in that outing and he allowed seven runs (six earned) on four base hits while walking two batters and striking out one. His ERA moved up to 3.99 with that rough outing and he has only been able to strike out 67 batters in 103.2 innings this year.

Tigers All-Star Miguel Cabrera has three hits in 10 at-bats versus Milone with a double and an RBI. Outfielder Rajai Davis is 4-for-11 against him with a double and four strikeouts.
