James Shields will be looking to pick up his fourth straight win when the Kansas City Royals take on Rick Porcello and the Detroit Tigers on Friday.

Rick Porcello was able to pick up his third win of the season last Friday despite only being able to go five innings in the game. He gave up four runs on six hits in the outing while striking out four and walking just one. His ERA rose a bit to 3.96, but his WHIP is still a solid 1.120 on the season.

Billy Butler has struck out nine times in 42 at-bats against Porcello, but he also has 13 hits against him with three doubles. Alex Gordon is batting .355 against the right-hander in 31 at-bats and has 2 home runs, two doubles and seven RBI.

James Shields started the season with an 0-2 record through his first three starts, but he has since won three in a row, including his win against the Baltimore Orioles this past Sunday. He went seven innings against the Orioles and limited them to just two runs on three hits and struck out six while walking two. He has dropped his ERA all the way down to 2.03 and he has struck out 9.2 batters per nine innings on the season.

Shields' toughest matchup on the Tigers will most definitely be Miguel Cabrera, who has hit .419 against him in his career with two home runs and seven RBI.
