On Friday night, Anibal Sanchez will attempt to bounce back from his worst start of the season when he and the Detroit Tigers face lefty Danny Duffy and the Kansas City Royals.

Anibal Sanchez gave up a season-high seven earned runs to the Tampa Bay Rays last Saturday and ended up losing his third game of the year. He pitched 5.2 innings in that start and allowed six hits while walking four batters and striking out just one. Even with that bad start Sanchez, still has a 3.18 ERA this year and he has only given up three home runs in 87.2 innings of work.

Raul Ibanez has seven hits in 28 at-bats against Sanchez and is the only player on the Royals who has hit a home run off of him. Billy Butler is 6-for-18 against Sanchez with two doubles and three RBI.

Danny Duffy pitched six innings against the Cleveland Indians on Sunday and ended up suffering his eighth loss of the year. He gave up four runs on 10 hits in that outing while walking no one and striking out six. Duffy currently has a 2.86 ERA and he has only given up 59 hits in his 78.2 innings on the mound this year.

Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera has five hits in 16 at-bats versus Duffy with three doubles and three RBI. Outfielder Austin Jackson has just three hits against him in 17 at-bats with five strikeouts.
