Justin Verlander will be hoping to win his first game in the month of June when the Detroit Tigers face Brad Peacock an the Houston Astros on Friday night.

Last Saturday, Justin Verlander pitched a solid game against the Cleveland Indians on the road, but all he could get out of that outing was a no decision. He pitched seven innings against the Indians and allowed two earned runs on five hits while walking one and striking out eight. Verlander has had a down season, going 6-7 through 16 starts with a 4.82 ERA.

Alex Presley has faced Verlander more than any of the other Astros and he is 2-for-6 against him with a double and a walk. Chris Carter is hitless against him in three at-bats and he has been struck out by Verlander three times.

Brad Peacock had a short outing against the Tampa Bay Rays in his last start, but he took the no decision instead of the loss in that game. He could only make it through four innings in that one and he allowed two runs on three hits while striking out three and walking four. Peacock is 2-4 for the Astros this season and he has a 4.50 ERA.

Reigning MVP Miguel Cabrera is 1-for-3 against Peacock in his career and is the only player on the Tigers who has been able to hit a home run off of him.
