Drew Smyly will get the start for the Detroit Tigers on Monday night and will go up against Corey Kluber and the Cleveland Indians.

Drew Smyly ended up with a no decision in his start against the Baltimore Orioles last week, but he did pitch well enough for a win in that game. He ended up going six innings and gave up just one earned run on five hits while walking two and tying a season-high with seven strikeouts. Smyly has a 2-2 record this year with an excellent 2.70 ERA and a 1.110 WHIP.

Outfielder Michael Brantley has four hits in seven at-bats against Smyly with a double, a triple and two RBI. Shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera is 3-for-7 against the lefty with a triple and two RBI. Mike Aviles is just 1-for-6 against him.

28-year-old starter Corey Kluber was able to pick up his fourth win last Wednesday when he pitched seven strong innings against the Toronto Blue Jays. He allowed just two runs on four hits in that start while striking out nine and walking one. Kluber has struck out over 10 batters per nine innings this season and has a 3.38 ERA.

Reigning MVP Miguel Cabrera has eight hits in 17 at-bats against Kluber, including three home runs. Catcher Alex Avila has struggled against Kluber in his career, going just 2-for-15 against him with four strikeouts.
