Big right-hander Rick Porcello will be going for his ninth win of the year when he and the Detroit Tigers go up against Hector Noesi and the Chicago White Sox on Monday night.

Rick Porcello lost for the third time this season when he was defeated by the Toronto Blue Jays last week. He allowed three earned runs on six hits in that start while striking out three and walking one. Porcello hasn't posted the strikeout numbers that he had last season, but he is giving up fewer hits and walking fewer batters this year.

White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez has just eight hits in 47 at-bats against Porcello with two strikeouts in his career. Gordon Beckham has fared better against the right-hander by going 12-for-29 with four doubles and a home run.

Hector Noesi was finally able to pick up his first win of the season last week against the Los Angeles Dodgers by pitching six innings of one-run ball. He only gave up five hits in that game and walked four while striking out six. Since moving to the White Sox, Noesi is 1-3 with a 3.92 ERA through 41.1 innings.

Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler has gotten a double and an RBI against Noesi, but he is just 2-for-10 against him overall. Miguel Cabrera is the only Tiger who has been able to hit a home run off of the right-hander.
