Left-hander Drew Smyly will be going for his fourth win of the season when the Detroit Tigers face Andre Rienzo and the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night.

Last week, lefty Drew Smyly won his third game of the year when he beat the Boston Red Sox at home. He pitched six solid innings in that game and allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits while walking one and striking out four. Smyly is 3-4 is now 3-4 on the season with a 3.81 ERA and he has struck out 49 hitters in 54.1 innings of work.

Veteran Adam Dunn has hit a home run off of Smyly in his career, but he is just 2-for-10 overall against him with seven strikeouts. First baseman Paul Konerko has six hits in nine at-bats against the left-hander with a home run and no strikeouts.

Second-year starter Andre Rienzo had his worst outing of the season last week when he allowed seven earned runs in just 3.2 innings against the Los Angeles Angels. In that loss, he allowed nine hits while walking one and striking out just two batters. On the season now, Rienzo is 4-3 with a 5.25 ERA and he has allowed 51 hits in 48 innings.

Tigers outfielder Austin Jackson is just 1-for-6 against Rienzo in their matchups, but that one hit was a two-run home run.
