Max Scherzer will be going for three straight wins when he and the Detroit Tigers face Hector Noesi and the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday afternoon.

Max Scherzer was able to pick up his second win in a row last Thursday when he was able beat these same Chicago White Sox. He pitched six innings in that outing and allowed just two runs on seven hits while striking out 10 and walking one. He now has a 2.45 ERA on the season and his striking out a league-high 12 batters per nine innings.

Alexei Ramirez has struggled mightily against Scherzer in his career, getting just four hits in 44 at-bats against the right-hander for a .091 batting average. Adam Dunn has three home runs against the 2013 Cy Young award winner, but just nine total hits in 42 at-bats with 17 strikeouts.

Hector Noesi is getting a chance to make his first start for the White Sox after they needed to shuffle their rotation due to a rainout and injuries to their regular starters. Noesi has already played for three teams this season and has an 11.74 ERA through 7.2 innings pitching out of the bullpen. This will be just his second start since 2012.

Ian Kinsler is just 1-for-8 against Noesi in his career, but Miguel Cabrera is 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI against the right-hander.
