On Sunday night, Anibal Sanchez will return to the mound for the Detroit Tigers and face Boston Red Sox starter Jake Peavy.

Anibal Sanchez will be making his first start since April 26, when he was left a game with an injured finger after 2.2 innings of work against the Minnesota Twins. He has a 3.13 ERA on the season through 23 innings and has 24 strikeouts and only 15 hits against him on the season. He has an 0-2 record on the year, but he has pitched well through his first five starts for the Tigers.

Shane Victorino has faced Sanchez more than any of the other Red Sox, but he is just 10-for-43 against him with seven strikeouts. David Ross hasn't fared much better against the right-hander, going 2-for-11 with three strikeouts.

Jake Peavy ended up with a no decision against the Minnesota Twins last week, but it was easily the worst start of the season so far for him. He was only able to 4.1 innings in that start and gave up six runs on nine hits while striking out a season-low one batter and walking two. He is 1-1 on the season with a 3.94 ERA.

Tigers All-Star Miguel Cabrera has a .289 average through 45 at-bats against Peavy with a double, three home runs and nine RBI. Rajai Davis is hitless against Peavy in 10 at-bats.
