Yohan Flande will be making his second Major League start for the Colorado Rockies when he takes on Washington Nationals right-hander Jordan Zimmermann on Monday night.

Left-hander Yohan Flande made the first big league start of his career last Wednesday and he ended up taking the no decision after pitching five innings against the St. Louis Cardinals. He allowed four earned runs on six hits in that outing while walking one and striking out four. He threw 62 of his 96 pitches for strikes and he induced nine ground balls and eight fly balls.

If his first start was any indication of his tendencies, the Rockies should expect to see Flande to throw his 90 mph fastball less than 60 percent of the time, while also mixing in his 83 mph slider and his 85 mph changeup.

In his start against the Milwaukee Brewers last week, Jordan Zimmermann pitched six pretty good innings and ended up with a no decision for his efforts. He allowed just two runs in that outing while walking two batters and striking out nine. On the season, Zimmermann is 5-4 through 16 starts and he has a very solid 2.95 ERA.

Rockies outfielder Drew Stubbs has zero hits against Zimmermann in 10 at-bats with four strikeouts. Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki is 2-for-7 against the right-hander with a walk and no strikeouts in his career.
