Christian Friedrich will be making just his second start of the year when the Colorado Rockies go up against Wily Peralta and the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday night.

On Saturday, 26-year-old Christian Friedrich made his first start of the year for the Rockies and ended up taking the loss against the Milwaukee Brewers at home. He pitched six innings in that start and gave up a whopping nine runs, though only four of them were earned. He struck out three batters in the game while walking three.

Brewers All-Star Ryan Braun has just one single in four at-bats against Friedrich in his career with one strikeout. Rickie Weeks is also 1-for-4 against him, but he has a triple and an RBI.

Wily Peralta notched his fourth win in a row and his eighth win overall on Saturday when he was able to defeat the Colorado Rockies on the road. He pitched 7.2 innings in that start and allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits while walking one and striking out two. Peralta is now 8-5 this year with a 3.02 ERA and he is striking out more batters and walking fewer than he did last season.

Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau has four hits in eight at-bats against Peralta with a double and three RBI. Corey Dickerson and Wilin Rosario are the only two Rockies who have hit home runs off of the right-hander.
