Rookie left-hander Tyler Matzek will be going for his second Major League win when he and the Colorado Rockies face nine-game winner Kyle Lohse and the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night.

Tyler Matzek made his third big league start on Sunday and ended up taking his second loss of the season at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers. He pitched 5.2 innings in that outing and allowed five earned runs on seven hits while walking four and striking out two. He is now 1-2 this season with a 5.19 ERA and he has only been able to notch nine strikeouts in 17.1 innings of work.

The Brewers are one of the three teams who have faced Matzek, so they know what to expect from the young left-hander. Aramis Ramirez was 2-for-3 against him in that game with a double and a home run.

Veteran Kyle Lohse won his ninth game of the year on Sunday when he was able to beat the Colorado Rockies on the road. He pitched just five innings in that game and allowed three runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out three. Lohse has been able to hold opposing hitters to just 94 hits in 107 innings this year.

All-Star Troy Tulowitzki has seven hits in his 21 at-bats against Lohse with two doubles, a triple, a home run and two RBI.
