Rookie Tyler Matzek will be making his second Major League start for the Colorado Rockies on Monday night and will have to face Hyun-Jin Ryu and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Left-hander Tyler Matzek made his bog league debut on Wednesday and ended up picking up his first win against the Atlanta Braves at home. He pitched seven strong innings in that game and allowed just two runs on five hits and struck out seven while not walking a batter. Possibly the most impressive stat from that game was that he was composed enough to throw 60 of his 81 pitches for strikes.

If his one other game in the majors is anything to go by, the Dodgers can expect to face a tough 94 mph fastball from Matzek that he will throw about 68 percent of the time. He'll also mix in an 85 mph slider and an 89 mph changeup.

Last Wednesday, Hyun-Jin Ryu gave up four runs in six innings to the Cincinnati Reds on the road and picked up his third loss of the season. He allowed six hits in that outing and walked two while striking out five. Ryu has been solid for the Dodgers this year, walking just 16 batters in 70.1 innings.

Ryu will not be looking forward to facing Charlie Blackmon again, as the outfielder is 5-for-7 against him with a double and an RBI.
