Big left-hander Brett Anderson (1-3) will look to follow up his first win of the year with another when the Colorado Rockies face Travis Wood (7-9) and the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night.

Brett Anderson made his sixth start of the season last week against the Pittsburgh Pirates and was able to pick up his first win of 2014. He pitched six shutout innings in that start and gave up just two hits while walking four and striking out one. Anderson now has a 3.24 ERA and he has only given up one home run in 33.1 innings on the mound.

Cubs outfielder Nate Schierholtz has gotten a hit in both of his at-bats against Anderson with a home run and three RBI. None of the other Cubs have faced Anderson yet.

Travis Wood was able to hit a home run in his start against the St. Louis Cardinals last Friday, but he gave up five runs (two earned) and finished with a no decision. He gave up seven hits in that outing and walked one batter while striking out five. Wood has had a rough season so far, giving up 132 hits in 121 innings and he now has a 5.06 ERA.

Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez is hitless against Wood in 10 plate appearances with no walks and four strikeouts. Drew Stubbs is 2-for-6 against him with a triple and an RBI.
