Saturday afternoon, Juan Nicasio and the Colorado Rockies will square off against Mike Minor and the Atlanta Braves.  Nicasio will be making his 10th start as Minor makes his 5th.

Juan Nicasio pitched to a no decision his last time out and that left his record at 4 - 2 with an ERA 4.03.  In that outing, Nicasio allowed 4 runs on 9 hits (including 2 home runs) in 6 innings of work.  He had a walk and 2 strikeouts.     Nicasio has been a decent starter this season and he should be able to improve on last year’s results when he went 9 - 9 with a 5.14 ERA in 31 starts.

In 2013, Nicasio took a loss in his only start against the Braves after getting lit up for 8 runs on 10 hits (including 2 homers) in just 4 innings of work.   Nicasio will have to keep an eye on almost everyone in the Atlanta lineup as the Braves are batting .458 against the right-hander.

Mike Minor evened his record to 2 – 2 with an ERA of 3.80 after getting a win in his last outing. In that start, Minor surrendered just 2 runs on 5 hits (including a home run) in 6.2 innings of work.  He walked 2 while striking out 5.   Last season, Minor was 13 – 9 with an ERA 3.21 in 32 starts. 

In 2013, Minor was 2 – 0 with an ERA of 2.08 in 2 starts against the Rockies.  If there is a batter that Minor has to watch out for, it will be Michael Cuddyer.  Cuddyer is 3 for 6 with a homer and 4 RBIs against the left-hander.
