Gavin Floyd will be going for his first win of the season on Friday when the Atlanta Braves go up against Jordan Lyles and the Colorado Rockies.

Gavin Floyd made his third start of the season on Sunday and ended up with a no decision after going 5.1 innings against the St. Louis Cardinals. He gave up four runs (one earned) in that start and struck out four while walking three. He now has a 2.41 ERA through 18.2 innings and has 17 strikeouts.

Michael Cuddyer has faced Floyd more than any of the other Rockies and has 12 hits in 36 at-bats with two doubles and a home run. Justin Morneau is just 7-for-33 against him.

Right-handed starter Jordan Lyles lost for the first time this season when he was only able to go 3.1 innings against the San Diego Padres last week. It was the shortest outing of the season for Lyles and he gave up six earned runs on five hits while walking a season-high six batters. His ERA jumped nearly a full run in the loss to 3.50, but he has still only given up 46 hits through 54 innings this year.

Braves outfielder Justin Upton has faced Lyles six times in his career and has four hits, including a double. No one on the Braves has hit a home run off of the right-hander yet.
