23-year-old Trevor Bauer will be on the mound for the Cleveland Indians on Friday night and will go head-to-head with Seattle Mariners veteran starter Chris Young.

Trevor Bauer ended up with a no decision against the Detroit Tigers last Saturday after pitching 6.1 innings against them and giving up four earned runs. He gave up eight hits in that game and walked two while striking out five. Through eight starts, Bauer is 2-3 and he has struck out 47 batters in 47 innings of work.

Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano is the only player on his team who has gone up against Bauer in his career, and he is 1-for-3 against him with a strikeout.

Big right-hander Chris Young pitched a very good game against the Kansas City Royals over the weekend, but all he got out of that start was a no decision. He allowed just one run in seven innings of work in that game while walking one and striking out two. Young is 6-4 this year with a solid 3.23 ERA and he has only given up 67 hits in 86.1 innings.

Veteran Nick Swisher has four hits in his 10 at-bats against Young with two doubles, a home run and two RBI. Outfielder Michael Bourn has three hits in seven at-bats against him with a double, a walk, an RBI and one strikeout.
