On Friday night, Trevor Bauer (5-8) will try to pick up his first win of the month when the Cleveland Indians face off against Phil Hughes (15-10) and the Minnesota Twins.

Trevor Bauer ended up with a no decision in his start against the Detroit Tigers on the road on Sunday after pitching five pretty good innings. He allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits in that outing while walking one hitter and striking out three. He now has a 4.04 ERA on the year and he has struck out 8.5 batters per nine innings.

Twins outfielder Oswaldo Arcia has done well against Bauer in his career, going 4-for-8 against him with three home runs and six RBI. Brian Dozier is just 1-for-8 against Bauer with two walks and one strikeout.

Phil Hughes lost his tenth game of the season last Saturday when he was beaten by the Chicago White Sox on the road. He did strike out a season-high 11 batters in that game, but he also gave up five runs (three earned) in seven innings of work. Hughes has a solid 3.56 ERA on the season despite giving up 206 hits in 194.2 innings.

Indians outfielder Michael Bourn is 3-for-9 against Hughes in his career with no walks and two strikeouts. Carlos Santana is just 1-for-8 against the right-hander with one walk and five strikeouts.
