Big right-hander Justin Masterson will try to win his first game since early June on Tuesday night when he and the Cleveland Indians go up against Josh Beckett and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Last Tuesday, Justin Masterson was lucky to come away with a no decision against the Arizona Diamondbacks after giving up five earned runs in just four innings of work. He allowed seven hits in that start and walked four batters while striking out six. Masterson is 4-5 on the season with a 5.03 ERA, but he's only given up five home runs in 93 innings.

Catcher Drew Butera has gone up against Masterson more than any of the other Dodgers, but he is hitless against him in 12 at-bats. Shortstop Hanley Ramirez is 1-for-3 against Masterson with a double and a strikeout.

Josh Beckett had another strong outing last week against the St. Louis Cardinals, but all he could get out of that game was a no decision. He pitched seven scoreless innings in that start and gave up just four hits while walking two and striking out four. Beckett's 5-4 record doesn't look that great, but he excellent 2.11 ERA shows that he deserves a lot more wins this season.

Jason Kipnis has only gone up against Beckett five times so far in his career, but he has hit two home runs off of the right-hander.
