Monday night, the Cleveland Indians and Corey Kluber will square off against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Dan Haren.  Kluber makes his 18th start as Haren makes his 17th.

Corey Kluber got the win in his last start and that took his record to 7 – 5 with a 3.09 ERA.  The last time out, Kluber pitched 7 scoreless innings and allowed just 4 hits and a walk while striking out 8.  It was Kluber’s first win in nearly a month but he has been pitching well in recent starts.  Kluber still has a chance to equal or better his results from 2013 when he went 11 - 5 with a 3.85 ERA in 24 starts and 2 relief appearances.

Last season, Kluber didn’t face the Dodgers and he only has experience against 3 of the Los Angeles hitters.  Kluber will be fortunate that he probably won’t face Carl Crawford.  Crawford is 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs against Kluber. 

Dan Haren pitched to his 2nd straight no-decision in his last start and that held his record at 7 - 4 with a 3.83 ERA. In that outing, Haren allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in just 4.1 innings of work.  Haren hasn’t thrown his best stuff in recent starts but he still is well ahead of 2013 when he posted a record of 10 – 14 with a save and a 4.67 ERA in 30 starts and a relief appearance with the Washington Nationals. 

Haren didn’t face the Indians last season but he has experience against many of the Cleveland hitters. Overall, he has held the Indians to a .216 average with 33 hits, 4 homers and 15 RBIs in 153 at-bats.
