Tuesday night, Corey Kluber will take the hill for the Cleveland Indians as they face Jared Weaver and the Los Angeles Angels.  Both pitchers will be making their 6th starts of the season.

Corey Kluber picked up his 2nd win of the season after going the distance and surrendering just a run on 4 hits without a walk while striking out 11.  The win took Kluber to 2 – 2 with an ERA of 3.90 in a season where he has been up and down.   Last season, Kluber was 11 – 5 with an ERA of 3.85 in 24 starts and 2 relief appearances.

In 2013, Kluber didn’t get to face the Angels and he has only faced 2 batters on the Los Angeles roster.  Of the two hitters, Brennan Boesch is 3 of 6 with a double and an RBI against Kluber.

Jared Weaver comes into this one after a no decision in his last start despite a solid outing.  The last time out, Weaver allowed just a run on 7 hits with a walk and 2 strikeouts.   So far this season, Weaver is 1 - 2 with an ERA of 4.11.  In 2013, Weaver was 11 – 8 with an ERA of 3.27 in 24 starts. 

Last season, Weaver was 1 – 1 with an ERA of 4.15 in 2 starts against the Indians.  Cleveland’s David Murphy has the most experience against Weaver with 54 at-bats.  In those plate appearances, Murphy is a .148 hitter with a homer and 4 RBIs.  But Weaver has struck out Murphy 12 times.
