Friday night, Carlos Carrasco (7-4-1, 2.69 ERA) will take his turn for the Cleveland Indians as they face David Price (13 -11, 3.33 ERA) and the Detroit Tigers.  Carrasco makes his 11th start and 37th appearance as Price makes his 31st start.

Carlos Carrasco continued his winning ways with another victory in his last start.  In that outing, Carrasco hurled 8.2 scoreless innings and allowed just 4 hits and no walks while striking out 8.  Carrasco hasn’t seen a mark in the loss column since late July.  He is 4 - 1 in his last 10 appearances.   In 2013, Carrasco started 7 games and made 8 relief appearances en route to a 1 -4 record and an ERA of 6.75.

Last season, Carrasco was 0 – 2 with a 12.46 ERA in 2 starts and a relief appearance against the Tigers.  This season, he is 1 - 0 in 5 appearances against Detroit.

David Price wasn’t his best the last time out and the result was a loss.  In 8.2 innings, Price allowed 5 runs and 9 hits (including a homer) as he walked a batter and struck out 11.  A bad start to the game doomed Price to the defeat.  Since coming over from Tampa Bay, Price hasn’t been as dominating as expected.  He is just 2 -3 in 7 starts for the Tigers.  Overall, he is 4 - 4 in his last 10 starts. Last season, Price went 10 -8 with a 3.33 ERA in 27 starts for the Rays.

In 2013, Price was routed in his only start against the Tribe.  He took the loss after allowing 8 runs and 10 hits (including 2 home runs) in just 5 innings.  Less than 2 weeks ago, Price beat the Indians behind a 7 inning, 1 run and 8 hit performance.
