On Thursday night, Josh Tomlin will be going for his fifth win of the season when the Cleveland Indians face Boston Red Sox ace Jon Lester.

Josh Tomlin had one of his best starts of the season last weekend when he was able to beat the Texas Rangers on the road. In that outing, he went a season-high eight innings and allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking no one. Tomlin has only walked five batters in 40.1 innings of work this season while striking out 35.

Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz is hitless against Tomlin in nine career plate appearances with a walk and a strikeout. Mike Napoli is 2-for-6 against him with a home run and two RBI.

Left-hander Jon Lester lost for the seventh time this season last Saturday when he was beaten by the Detroit Tigers on the road. He had perhaps his worst start of the year in that game, giving up five earned runs in just 4.1 innings of work while walking one and striking out no one. On the season, Lester is 6-7 with a 3.52 ERA and his 10.1 strikeouts per nine innings is the highest strikeout rate of his career.

Asdrubal Cabrera is 7-for-21 against Lester with two doubles and two RBI. None of the Indians have been able to hit a homer off of him yet.
