Saturday afternoon, T.J. House will take the mound for the Cleveland Indians as they square off against Jake Peavy and the Boston Red Sox.  House will be making his 5th start and 6 appearance as Peavy makes his 14th start. 

T.J. House pitched to his 3rd straight no-decision in his last start and that left his record at 0 – 1 as his ERA shot up to 5.24. In that start, House was lit up for 6 runs on 6 hits (including a home run) in 3.1 innings of work.  He walked 2 while only striking out 1.  House started the season in Triple-A Columbus but his numbers there were not overwhelming as he was 1 – 2 with a 2.40 ERA in 7 starts. 

Even though House has only made 5 starts this season, one of them has been against the Red Sox.  He didn’t factor in the decision despite allowing just 2 runs on 5 hits (including a home run) in 5.2 innings of work.

Jake Peavy comes into this one with a 1 - 4 record and a 4.76 ERA after losing his last start.  In his 2nd straight loss, Peavy gave up 4 runs on 8 hits (including 3 home runs) in 7 innings of work.  He walked a batter and struck out 7.  It almost seems impossible for Peavy to even come close to 2013 when he went 12 – 5 with a 4.17 ERA in 33 starts for the Red Sox and the Chicago White Sox.

Last season, Peavy won his only start against the Indians after allowing just a run (on a solo homer) and 5 hits in 7 innings without issuing a walk and striking out 11.  Peavy took a loss against the Indians less than 2 weeks ago after giving up 5 runs and 8 hits in 6.1 innings.
