Sunday afternoon, Trevor Bauer will take the hill for the Cleveland Indians as they square off against Miguel Gonzalez and the Baltimore Orioles.  It will be Bauer’s 3rd start and Gonzalez’s 9th start and 10th appearance.

Trevor Bauer comes into this star fresh off his first win of the year in his last start.  In the 6 inning effort, Bauer allowed 2 runs on 7 hits (including 2 home runs) with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts as he took his record to 1 - 1 with an ERA of 2.25.  If not for the 2 home runs, it would have been a great line for Bauer in the box score.  Last season, Bauer was just 1 – 2 with an ERA of 5.29 in 4 starts.

Bauer didn’t face the Orioles in 2013 and he has only seen one of their hitters before.  But, Delmon Young is 0 for 2 against Bauer.

Miguel Gonzalez got the win in his last start and that improved his record to 2 – 3 as he lowered his ERA to 4.53.  In the outing, Gonzalez allowed 2 runs on 7 hits (including a home run) in 6 innings of work without walking a batter while striking out 7.   Last season, Gonzalez was 11- 8 with an ERA of 3.78 in 28 starts and 2 relief appearances.

In 2013, Gonzalez won his only start against the Indians after surrendering 3 runs on 9 hits in 6.2 innings of work.  The Cleveland lineup has done well against Gonzalez, especially Lonnie Chisenhall.  Chisenhall is 2 for 3 with a homer and 2 RBIS against the right-hander.
