Big right-hander Alfredo Simon (14-10), who is 1-1 with a 4.00 ERA this month, will take the mound for the Cincinnati Reds when they take on Lance Lynn (15-9) and the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday night.

Alfredo Simon pitched seven scoreless innings against the Chicago Cubs last week, but he finished with just a no decision after getting no runs from his offense. He allowed five hits in that start and walked one batter while striking out three. On the year, Simon has a 3.35 ERA and he as only given up 169 hits in 185.1 innings of work.

Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams seems to like facing Simon, going 3-for-7 against him with two doubles, a home run and three RBI. Outfielder Matt Holliday is 2-for-13 against him in his career with four walks and three strikeouts.

Last Tuesday, Lance Lynn pitched very well against the Milwaukee Brewers and ended up with a no decision. He gave up just one run in seven innings that day and struck out five batters while walking one. Lynn has only given up nine home runs in 191.2 innings to opposing hitters and he has a very solid 2.68 ERA.

Reds outfielder Jay Bruce has 12 hits in his 25 at-bats against Lynn with a double, two triples and two home runs. Todd Frazier only has three hits in 23 at-bats against him with three walks, two home runs and 12 strikeouts.
