On Saturday night, Mike Leake (11-12) will look to lower his 7.31 September ERA when he and the Cincinnati Reds face off against second-year starter Michael Wacha (5-6) and the St. Louis Cardinals.

On Sunday, Mike Leake pitched six innings against the Milwaukee Brewers and ended up taking the loss. He gave up three runs on eight hits in that start and walked three batters while striking out three. Leake has given up a league-high 208 hits in his 202.1 innings of work this season and he now has a 3.65 ERA.

Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday has a .394 batting average in 33 at-bats against Leake with three doubles, a home run and seven RBI. Veteran Jhonny Peralta is just 1-for-11 against him with a walk and five strikeouts.

Last week, Michael Wacha could only make it through four innings against the Cincinnati Reds on the road and ended up losing for the sixth time this season. He gave up six runs (five earned) on six hits in that game and walked three hitters while striking out three. Wacha now has a 3.14 ERA on the year and he has only given up six home runs in 97.1 innings of work.

Reds shortstop Zack Cozart is 3-for-10 against Wacha in his career with a triple and a strikeout. Outfielder Jay Bruce is hitless in 10 plate appearances against him with no walks and seven strikeouts.
