Cincinnati Reds starter Mike Leake will try to extend his two-game winning streak on Thursday night when he goes up against veteran Ryan Vogelsong and the San Francisco Giants.

Right-hander Mike Leake picked up his fifth win of the year over the weekend against the Toronto Blue Jays by pitching eight strong innings against them. He gave up just one run on four hits in that outing while striking out six and walking two. Leake improved to 5-6 on the year with the win and his ERA is now down to a respectable 3.59.

Giants outfielder Hunter Pence has done well against Leake over the years, going 10-for-25 against him with two doubles, a home run and three RBI. Pablo Sandoval is 11-for-17 against him with two doubles, two home runs and three RBI.

Ryan Vogelsong didn't pitch particularly well against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday, but he got some help from his offense and ended up getting his fifth win of the season. He went five innings in that game and allowed four runs on five hits while striking out three and walking three. On the season, Vogelsong is 5-3 through 15 starts and has struck out 71 batters in 85 innings of work.

Reds outfielder Jay Bruce has five hits in his 15 at-bats against Vogelsong with a double, a home run and four RBI.
