Alfredo Simon will look to take his undefeated streak to six games when he and the Cincinnati Reds go up against Matt Cain San Francisco Giants on Saturday night.

On Monday against the Chicago Cubs, Alfredo Simon pitched well enough to get the win, but he had to settle for a no decision. He pitched seven innings in that outing and allowed just one earned run on five hits while striking out five hitters and walking one. This has easily been Simon's best season in the majors so far, going 10-3 through 15 starts and he has a very good 2.92 ERA.

Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval is 0-for-2 against Simon in his career with a walk and a strikeout. None of the current Giants have been able to hit a home run off the big right-hander.

Matt Cain lost his third game in a row on Monday when he was beaten by the San Diego Padres at home. He allowed six runs on seven hits in 7.1 innings of work while walking one and striking out seven. He is now 1-6 on the year with a 4.82 ERA and his walk rate is his worst since back in 2008.

Ryan Ludwick likes facing Cain, as he is 8-for-22 against him with a double, three home runs and six RBI. Skip Schumaker is just 4-for-23 against him with two strikeouts.
