On Friday night, Homer Bailey will be going for his fifth consecutive win when the Cincinnati Reds take on veteran Matt Garza and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Right-hander Homer Bailey had a dominant outing against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday when he allowed just one run on six hits in eight innings of work. He walked three hitters in that game and struck out seven. On the year, Bailey has a fantastic 7-3 record, but a big reason for that is because he has gotten 5.17 runs per nine innings from his offense.

Second baseman Rickie Weeks has 14 hits in 27 at-bats against Bailey in his career with two doubles, two home runs and eight RBI. Outfielder Carlos Gomez has just four hits against him in 23 at-bats with seven strikeouts.

Last Saturday, Matt Garza won his fourth game of the season when he was able to defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road. He went six innings in that game and allowed three runs on six hits while walking five and striking out just one. He now has a 4.42 ERA through 79.1 innings and he has only given up seven home runs.

Reds outfielder Jay Bruce has six hits in 16 at-bats against Garza with two doubles, two home runs and six RBI. Skip Schumaker is 6-for-12 against him with a double and no strikeouts.
