On Saturday night, Mat Latos is expected to get called back up to the big leagues and make the start for the Cincinnati Reds when they face Yovani Gallardo and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Mat Latos made a total of five rehab starts in the minors for the Reds and looked pretty sharp in most of them. He finished his stint with a 2-0 record and a 3.09 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 23.1 innings of work. The Reds will be happy to have Latos back in their rotation after he went 14-7 in 2013 with a 3.16 ERA in a career-high 210.2 innings pitched.

Brewers superstar Ryan Braun has struggled against Latos in his career, going 2-for-17 against him with just one RBI and five strikeouts. Shortstop Jean Segura has seven hits in 14 at-bats against him with a home run and a walk.

On Sunday, Yovani Gallardo was able to win his fourth game of the year when he beat the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road. He went seven scoreless innings in that start and gave up just four hits while walking one and striking out a season-high eight batters. With that solid start, Gallardo was able to lower his ERA to 3.71 and he now has 60 strikeouts through 77.2 innings.

Veteran outfielder Ryan Ludwick has 11 hits in 29 at-bats against Gallardo with a double, three home runs and 11 RBI.
