On Tuesday, Cincinnati Reds starter Homer Bailey will face off against Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Jimmy Nelson, who will be making his third start of the season.

Veteran right-hander Homer Bailey pitched five innings in his start against the Chicago Cubs on July 10 and ended up with a no decision for his efforts. He allowed three runs on just two hits in that outing while striking out three batters and walking two. Bailey is currently 8-5 on the year with a 4.21 ERA and he has 105 strikeouts in 117.2 innings.

One player on the Brewers who Bailey definitely does not like facing is second baseman Rickie Weeks, who us 14-for-27 against him with two doubles, two home runs and eight RBI. Outfielder Carlos Gomez is just 5-for-28 against him with three RBI and four strikeouts.

Jimmy Nelson ended up suffering his first Major League loss in his last outing when he was beaten by the St. Louis Cardinals at home. He only got through 4.1 innings in that start and gave up eight runs (six earned) on eight hits while striking out five hitters and walking two. Through two starts, he is now 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA and he has struck out 11 batters in 10 innings of work.

Zack Cozart, Todd Frazier and Ryan Ludwick are the only Reds who have faced Nelson and are a combined 0-for-3 with two strikeouts against him.
