Cincinnati Reds starter Mat Latos will make his seventh start of the year when he takes on Wily Peralta and the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday night.

In his last start, Mat Latos pitched five innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates and ended up with a no decision. He allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits in that outing and walked two hitters while striking out five. Through six starts this season, Latos is 2-1 with a 2.79 ERA and he has only given up 24 hits in 38.2 innings of work.

Brewers All-Star outfielder Carlos Gomez has eight hits in his 20 at-bats versus Latos with a double, a triple, two home runs and seven RBI. Ryan Braun has only been able to get two hits in 20 at-bats against him with six strikeouts.

Right-hander Wily Peralta had a great outing against the St. Louis Cardinals last Sunday and came away with his 10th win of the season. He allowed just one unearned run on seven hits while walking no one and striking out five. Peralta is 10-6 on the year with a 3.72 ERA and he has lowered his walk rate to just 2.4 walks per nine innings.

Reds outfielder Jay Bruce has been able to hit a home run off of Peralta in his career, but he is just 3-for-16 overall against him with seven strikeouts.
