On Friday night, Cincinnati Reds right-hander Mat Latos (2-3) will attempt to end his current two-game losing streak when he takes on Jacob Turner (4-6) and the Miami Marlins.

On Sunday, Mat Latos gave up three runs in six innings against the Washington Nationals and ended up losing for the third time in eight starts. He allowed three hits in that game and walked a season-high four batters while striking out six. On the year, Latos now has a 3.31 ERA and he has only given up 35 hits in 51.2 innings of work.

Marlins first baseman Garrett Jones has just four hits in 24 at-bats against Latos with two walks and nine strikeouts. All-Star outfielder Giancarlo Stanton has four hits in eight at-bats against the big right-hander with a double and three RBI.

Jacob Turner was able to win his second game in a row on Sunday when he defeated the Houston Astros on the road. He pitched 5.2 innings in that game and allowed just one run on six hits while striking out four batters and walking two. Turner still has a high 5.69 ERA on the season, but he has pitched very well recently.

Reds All-Star Todd Frazier has one hit in his two at-bats against Turner with a walk and a double. None one on the Reds has faced Turner more than six times.
