Big right-hander Alfredo Simon will be going for his seventh win of the season when the Cincinnati Reds take on Zack Greinke and the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday.

Alfredo Simon improved his record to 6-2 last Wednesday when he was able to beat the Washington Nationals on the road after pitching seven innings of one-run ball. He scattered five hits in that start and walked just one while striking out six. Simon continued to improve upon the best season of his career and now has a 2.31 ERA. He has given up just 45 hits in 58.1 innings on the year.

No one on the Dodgers has hit an extra-base hit against Simon yet, and first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is the only player on the team with an RBI against him.

Zack Greinke got into a lot of long pitch counts against the New York Mets last week and ended up with a no decision after only getting through five innings. He allowed three runs (one earned) on four hits and struck out four while walking two in that start. Despite that below-average outing, he has still been one of the best pitchers in the NL this season with his 7-1 record and his 2.01 ERA.

Outfielder Jay Bruce has just four hits in 25 at-bats against Greinke with seven strikeouts, but he does have a home run against him and five RBI.
