On Monday night, Johnny Cueto will be looking to bounce back from a bad start when he and the Cincinnati Reds face off against Hyun-Jin Ryu and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Johnny Cueto had his worst start of the season his last time on the mound when he gave up eight runs (six earned) against the Washington Nationals. He went just 5.1 innings in that game and gave up six hits while striking out six and walking no one. Despite the rough game, he still has an excellent 1.86 ERA on the year and has given up just 39 hits in 77.1 innings.

Outfielder Matt Kemp is batting .500 in 12 at-bats against Cueto with two home runs and two RBI. Andre Ethier has just three hits in 12 at-bats against Cueto, but one of those hits was a home run.

Hyun-Jin Ryu was able to notch his fourth win of the season when he defeated the New York Mets last Wednesday on the road. He pitched six innings in that start and allowed just two runs on nine hits while striking out a season-high nine batters and walking one. He currently has a 3.00 ERA through eight starts and has walked just 12 batters in 45 innings.

Outfielder Jay Bruce is 1-for-3 against Ryu in his career and is the only Red who has hit a home run off of him.
