Dylan Axelrod (0-0) is expected to get called up and make his first start for the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday night when they take on Jordan Lyles (6-1) and the Colorado Rockies.

Dylan Axelrod hasn't pitched in the big leagues this year, but he has made 30 starts in the majors and has appeared in 48 games overall. He has a career record of 7-13 at the Major League level with a 5.36 ERA. In the minors this year, he has an 8-8 record with a 4.09 ERA and he has been especially hot over the last month or so.

Rockies veteran Justin Morneau has five hits in his eight at-bats against Axelrod with two doubles and on walk. Outfielder Drew Stubbs is 3-for-9 against him in his career with a double and an RBI.

23-year-old Jordan Lyles pitched 5.1 innings against the San Diego Padres on Monday and ended up with a no decision. He gave up two runs on four base hits in that game while walking three batters and striking out four. Lyles currently has a 3.70 ERA and he has given up just 8.3 hits per nine innings, which is the best rate of his young career.

Reds shortstop Zack Cozart has five hits in nine at-bats against Lyles with two doubles, a home run and six RBI. Jay Bruce is just 2-for-11 against him, but does have a home run and five RBI from those at-bats.
