On Monday night, Alfredo Simon (12-6) will be attempting to snap his three-game losing skid when the Cincinnati Reds face off against Corey Kluber (11-6) and the Cleveland Indians.

Big right-hander Alfredo Simon had a good game against the Arizona Diamondbacks last Wednesday, but he still ended up taking the loss. He allowed just two runs on seven innings in that outing while striking out two and walking one. Simon has been solid for the Reds this year, currently owning a 2.84 ERA and he has only given up 114 hits in 133 innings of work.

Indians first baseman Nick Swisher has four hits in nine at-bats against Simon with two home runs and four RBI. Carlos Santana is 2-for-8 against him with no walks and two strikeouts.

Corey Kluber pitched the first shutout of his career last Wednesday when he defeated the Seattle Mariners at home. He allowed just three hits in those nine innings of work and struck out eight batters while walking no one. Kluber has struck out 170 batters in 158.1 innings this year and now has a very good 2.61 ERA.

Reds infielder Ramon Santiago has four hits in seven plate appearances against Kluber with a double and two strikeouts. Brayan Pena is the only other player on the Reds who has faced Kluber and he is 0-for-1 against him with a walk.
