Mike Leake will be on the mound for the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday when they go up against Jake Peavy and the Boston Red Sox.

Mike Leake had an impressive outing against the Milwaukee Brewers last Friday, but he didn't get much help from his offense and ended up getting his third loss of the season. He pitched eight innings in that game and gave up just two runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out five. He's given up just 37 hits in 43.1 innings this season and his ERA is currently 3.53.

Shane Victorino has faced Leake more than any of the other Red Sox and has four hits in 10 at-bats against him.

Jake Peavy picked up his first loss of the season when he was defeated by the Tampa Bay Rays last Thursday. He gave up two runs in that one on three hits while walking a season-high five batters and striking out four. He still has a solid 2.87 ERA on the year, but his 5 walks per nine innings is way higher than normal for him.

Brandon Phillips has just three hits in 19 at-bats against Peavy, while Ramon Santiago is equally as bad with just two hits in 13 at-bats. Brayan Pena is the only player on the Reds with a home run off of the veteran right-hander.
