On Thursday, rookie Scott Carroll (4-6) will be going for his first win since July 12 when he and the Chicago White Sox go up against Roenis Elias (8-9) and the Seattle Mariners.

Last Saturday against the Minnesota Twins, Scott Carroll pitched seven decent innings and ended up with a no decision. He allowed four runs in those seven innings of work and walked two batters while striking out four. His ERA now sits at 4.36 on the year, but he has already given up 98 hits in 86.2 innings.

Outfielder Chris Denorfia and first baseman Kendrys Morales are the only players on the Mariners who have gone up against Carroll and are a combined 0-for-1 against him with a walk.

Rookie Roenis Elias pitched well enough to get the win against the Baltimore Orioles last Friday, but he ended up taking the loss after getting just one run from his offense. He pitched 5.2 innings in that game and allowed two runs (one earned) on seven base hits while striking out seven batters and walking just one. He now has a 4.19 ERA on the year and he has been able to strike out 117 batters in 129 innings.

White Sox rookie Jose Abreu has one hit in three at-bats against Elias with a home run and two RBI. Paul Konerko is 0-for-3 against him with two strikeouts.
