John Danks will be on the mound for the Chicago White Sox on Monday to take on Jesse Chavez and the Oakland Athletics.

Lefty John Danks pitched six solid innings in his last start against the Chicago Cubs and was able to pick up his third win of the season. In those six innings, he gave up three earned runs on just four hits while striking out a season-high eight batters and walking one. His ERA is still a bit high at 4.93 and he has walked 21 batters in 42 innings.

Nick Punto hasn't been able to figure out how to hit Danks over the years, going just 4-for-24 with no extra-base hits. Daric Barton has done well against the left-hander by getting six hits, including two doubles, in 13 career at-bats.

Jesse Chavez picked up his first loss of the season last Tuesday when he was beaten by the Seattle Mariners at home. He pitched just 5.2 innings in that outing and gave up four runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out a season-low three. His ERA is still an outstanding 2.47 and he's only given up 35 hits in 43.2 innings this year.

Chavez has done well against White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham in their matchups, giving up no hits against him in five at-bats and striking him out two times. Alexei Ramirez is 3-for-5 against Chavez with a triple and two RBI.
