Scott Carroll will be making his fourth start of the season for the Chicago White Sox when they face Drew Pomeranz and the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday night.

Scott Carroll lost his second straight start last week when he was beaten by the Chicago Cubs at home. He only made it through four innings in that game and gave up a season-high six earned runs on 11 hits while striking out two and walking two. His ERA went up to 3.63 in the loss, but he has only made three starts this season so far.

This will be the first time that Carroll will face the Oakland Athletics. They can expect to see his 89 mph fastball about three quarters of the time and he will also mix in a curveball and a slider.

Drew Pomeranz made his first start of the season last week after spending the majority of the year in the bullpen. He was able to beat the Seattle Mariners in that start by going five shutout innings and gave up just two hits while striking out five.

A's third baseman Conor Gillaspie is the only player on the White Sox who has faced Pomeranz, and he is 0-for-1 against him. The rest of his team can look forward to seeing his 92-94 mph fastball and his 83 mph slider throughout the night.
