On Sunday afternoon, John Danks will try to make it four wins in a row when the Chicago White Sox take on Minnesota Twins right-hander Phil Hughes.

Lefty John Danks won his third consecutive game and his sixth win overall on Tuesday when he beat the San Francisco Giants in Chicago. He pitched 6.1 innings in that start and allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits while walking three and striking out four. Danks is 6-5 so far this season, but his walk rate is double what it was last year.

Twins first baseman Joe Mauer has gone up against Danks more than any of his teammates and he is 20-for-53 against him with three doubles and six RBI. Catcher Kurt Suzuki has just one hit in 15 at-bats against Danks.

Phil Hughes pitched very well against the Boston Red Sox on the road in his last start, but he ended up taking the loss after getting just one run from his offense. He went eight innings in that game and allowed two runs on eight hits while walking no one and striking out six. He is now 7-3 this season with a solid 3.09 ERA and he has walked only eight batters in 90.1 innings.

White Sox outfielder Moises Sierra has done well against Hughes in his career, going 7-for-14 against him with a double and a home run.
